Source: rajah.com/base/2005/2277* In an update to what has certainly become the biggest news story in recent memory, Lance Storm updated his Q&A, shedding light on details for the upcoming ECW PPV. On the possibility of the PPV: I honestly have no idea, but I like the fact that it is being talked about as a Reunion show. It can never be a true ECW show but with it billed as a Reunion show, I think it can live up. It should just be a bunch of past ECW guys reliving it one last time for the fans. Who has requested a match with Storm at the PPV? This is my most asked question. RVD and Dreamer.

Source: www.rajah.com/base/2005/2406It seems that the ECW pay-per-view WWE is planning to have will be on 12th June, 2005, and will be called “”ECW ONE NIGHT STAND”. WWE trademarked “ECW ONE NIGHT STAND” on January 18th, 2005. It’s likely that this confirms the name of the ECW show. The show is likely to happen in New York City. WWE have not confirmed anything yet, nor anything regarding ECW, but sources within the company say that management are keen on the idea of having an ECW show.

Source: www.rajah.com/base/2005/2565-WWE has begun to contact former ECW talent not under contract about appearing at the ECW Reunion PPV they have planned for June 12th. The PPV is rumored to be titled as ECW: One Night Stand. Tommy Dreamer has been put in charge of contacting old talent about the possibility of them appearing on the show and it is said he has already been on the phone with such former talent as Sandman. This could also be a tatic by WWE to contact former ECW talent so that they won’t appear on the 6/10 show that Shane Douglas is currently trying to organize, that is also billed to an ECW reunion of sorts.

Source : www.rajah.com/base/2005/3045Rob Van Dam issued an update on his website yesterday to inform everyone that his knee was in good condition and that it felt “fine.” Van Dam mentioned that he would return to action at the ECW PPV, but it isn’t known whether he will wrestle or now. He said the following: “This pay per view will live up to the standards all ECW hardcore fans have held for the company and it will beat expectations, because for this one night only…we won’t hold back, and we won’t be held back!” It’s thought that RVD won’t be able to wrestle at the PPV, but that is not confirmed at this point.

Source : www.rajah.com/base/2005/3058According to sources, there will be little to no promotion by WWE on their programming for the ECW pay-per-view, at least in the context of storylines. As it stands plans are to have it stand alone as its own brand and not promote it based on angles on WWE television. The company basically want all ECW fans to find it themselves and purchase the event on pay-per-view. The show will be an ‘ECW’ style show which features some hardcore wrestling, some extreme women spots and generally some top quality wrestling. WWE are very keen on having an ‘ECW feel’ to the show. There has also been talk of producing it the ECW way – which basically means it will have a less polished look to it then WWE shows do, including fewer camera angles. Their overall goal is to ‘stay true to what the brand was’. As of today, WWE are yet to make contact with Joey Styles with regard to him doing the announcing on the show. Mick Foley is expected to be at the show. Sources close the situation say that Vince McMahon would like to see Foley work the show as Cactus Jack and wrestle a ‘Cactus’ style match, however Foley has said that he doesn’t wish to be in a bought of that nature. Foley has now realised that as he’s getting older, his body cannot take the kind of abuse he’s put it through in the past, so he is keen on working comedy promos as to putting his body on the line again. Expectedly, Tommy Dreamer has been heavily involved in plans for the event as has Paul Heyman.
