Hell, it's that time again...The Fall Gaming season is almost here, and that means an enormous numbers of nasty games, amongst them some very hotly anticipated titles, will be hitting gamers everywhere silly, so before that happens. here's a heads up of things to comes...
Before you wonder, the answer is yes, the above list was in order. Why? Here's why...
1/ WWE Smackdown! VS Raw
A controversial choice, definitely, judging from the fierce competitions ie. GTA: San Andreas, etc.as many people might put the latter above this, but not me. Being the WWE fan that I am, the infinite potential of taking part in an international Royal Rumble(online capability, baby) really got my adrenaline pumping, and that's just one of the many improvement of this latest installment of THQ and Yukes's Smackdown series...
Release Date:11/02/04
2/Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
This is pretty elementary. GTA. Meaning: Steal any car, kill anyone, do anything...All in all, it pretty much means you get to ba a bada$$. And a big one at that. And since there's no way good ol' normal folks like us can be a bada$$, so do feel free to indulge yourself in this...
Release Date:10/19/04
3/Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
The sequel to the ground-breaking, a$$-kicking epic from Konami is actually a prequel. And this time round, it's jungle warfare. Folk everywhere as been speculating who exactly is this Solid Snake, circa 1967,(if you ask me, it gotta be Snake's old man, Big Boss) and how this "Snake Eater" actually eats, as one of the new key features is that, Snake has to eat to keep himself alive. Hmmm, eating in a jungle...yuck.
Release Date:11/15/04
4/Devil May Cry 3
Again, this sequel turns out to be another prequel, so fans everywhere wondering what happen to Dante after the end of DMC 2 have to be patient about it. But wait a second, why care about that out-of-character, mute Dante from the lamer DMC 2, when you get to revisit the trash-talking, demons insulting, foul mouth Dante?
Release Date:12/07/04
5/Gran Turismo 4
Like Smackdown! VS Raw, this latest installment of the best-selling, most popular driving game franchise also comes with online capabilities, with the new GT Online mode, with up to six players per race...Sounds interesting.
Release Date:11/17/04
6/Prince of Persia 2
One of the surprise hit of 2003, the Prince is back, albeit a little older, and you know what they say about age...Word is, the combat system has been enhanced in order for more stylish action sequence. We'll see...
Release Date:11/16/04
7/Rumnle Roses
High definition cute babes wearing revealing wrestling gear trying to pin each other down. Think Dead Or Alive: Beach Volleyball. Subtlety is out of the question.
Release Date:11/16/04
8/Suikoden IV
One of the most understated RPG series from Konami returns with another action packed tale, based loosely(extremely) on the classic Chinese tale, Water Margin. One notable enhancement is that voice-acting are included for the first time. Fans should be glad to know that, like the previous installments, many characters from previous games will be back.
Release Date:11/16/04
9/The Lord Of The Rings: The Third Age
I never quite like those games from Electronic Arts, based on the LOTR movies, because to me, if you want "one against a thousand" type of action game, look no further than the excellent "Dynasty Warriors" series from KOEI. Also, part of the reason is, LOTR always look more like an RPG game than anything else. I guess someone finally agreed with me. However, one point to take note is, although the story is still strongly set in the LOTR mythos, it got another pack of "fellowship", comprised of new characters never heard of.
Release Date:11/02/04
9/Mortal Kombat: Deception
Once again, online play rules the day. Even classic 3D fighter like MK can't avoid this inevitable path. However, this time round, Midway promises interactive backgrounds ala Dead Or Alive. Well, suffice to say, there's only one word on my mind: Fatalities.
Release Date:10/11/04
